John Medina is a developmental molecular biologist and research consultant. He is an affiliate Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He is also the director of the Brain Center for Applied Learning Research at Seattle Pacific University. He lives in Seattle with his wife and two sons.

DENNIS W. BAKKE co-founded AES in 1981 and served as its president and CEO from 1994-2002. He is now president and CEO of Imagine Schools, an organization that operates elementary and secondary (K-12) charter schools in 11 states. He and his wife, Eileen, live in Arlington, VA.
